Fiordland and Queenstown
Queenstown (pictured right) is an ideal town to stay in order to
explore both Lake Wanaka and Fiordland. Boat tours to the various
sounds in Fiordland regularly leave from Queenstown. Apart from the
stunning scenery, Queenstown is also a thriving city with an active
night life, interesting restraunts and an international atmosphere.
Fiordland is New Zealand's largest national park at almost 3 million
acres. Milford Sound (pictured left) is one of the must see locations
in Fiordland. Milford Sound is surrounded by lush vegitation,
waterfalls and tall majestic peaks. Don't forget to check out the Glow Worm
Caverns, Doubtful Sound and Manapouri Hydoelectric Power Station.
